Here we are being funny, starting our trip. Pulled the car to the gate and Ralph started to set the Trip on the car computer.. Well all --- broke lose, because then we did not have a speedometer.
How could we drive and not know our speed. We put a call into our Salesman at Acura, Yes, we bought the GMC Terrain from him. It was his day off and he and family were going to the water park..He parked his car and told us step by step how to fix it. That is the salesman to have, one that saves you even after you have purchased the car.
It is about 102 in Coarsegold and very smoke due to the fires in the mountains. Our first stop was at Micky D
Even Micky has gone computer orders. I like to just give my order to a person.
We ended up in Chowchilla for Micky D and just relaxed. Then
on to the freeway again. I work with the Calif. Map Ralph was looking at the
electronic directions. We got thru the
freeway intersections at Sacramento with just a couple of wrong turns and arrived
in Red Bluff. Who said that going north
would be cooler! It is 107, but not smoky..
We made reservations ahead this time in Red Bluff and arrived about 2:30.
We got settled, it is going to take time to figure out where
everything is and get into a routine.
There is a quilt store in Red Bluff, Stitch by Stitch . Always
call to see if what is written in Quilter’s Travel Companion for an address is
where the store is located. Cathy had moved, and it was just down the road from
our Hotel. Lovely store with lots of goodies.
I had a fun time chatting with the
ladies.
Really like the fabric in the piece hanging over the chest. Nice display, perfect for cuddling.
This building across from the store caught my eye, love the movement of
the design.. Did not check out the name, not at 107degrees.
Then an early dinner at
Casa Ramos, this is lunch and dinner.
I have not had a Chimichanga in eons.. Oh, so good but too much to eat it all.Busy first day... Drop in and see where we end up tomorrow. Plans to see other quilt stores.
