Dignity of Earth and Sky Statue

This is an amazing statue.  Now, we are sorry we did not come to this location at dusk as Sonja suggested. I don't know the woman in the photo but it shows of the size of this statue. It is at the rest stop on the Purple Heart Memorial Highway.

Sonja told us it is made of 12 tons of Stainless Steel, is 50 ft. tall and it over looks the Missouri river.
It honors the native people of the plains. The Sculpture Artist is Dale Claude Lamphere, a South Dakota Artist Laureate.

 We walked around this amazing statue.

If you are ever in this area, stop, this statue is extraordinary and the Building with history about the area is also very interesting.
