Fabric Junction in Sturgis South Dakota

With this sign the Fabric Junction was easy to find. When Sturgis is in full swing, the quilt store is allowed to put his movable sign out near the street. Otherwise it might be a bit difficult to find it. There is always GPS. We were not sure when the motorcycle gathering was to be in full swing. We were lucky and a week early. All ready there were booths setting up on the sidewalks. It is hard to drive down the main street, let alone walk on the sidewalks when it is in full swing. Everything is Motorcycles.
The owner Chris took over for his mom. She started the store years ago. Forgot to ask if they ride motorcycles. There are tons of fabrics around the multiple rooms. Chris also does the quilting on a very large quilt machine. And there were many quilts waiting to be completed.

How about a hot pad made with motorcycle fabric even have pillow cases in the various fabrics, yes, motorcycles.  They have some custom fabrics, with Motorcycles. Did I mention that they are custom to this store, designed by them printed by Fabric Junction, you can only buy the fabrics here in Sturgis, or from them on the net.

Ralph really liked this panel.. I picked up some other related fabric. Yes, this time I am saying I bought some of these fabrics.. there was no way I could keep Ralph out of this store.
This whole rack relates to the Motorcycle fabrics. Some are the flames you can find other places, but some you can only purchase here.. If you have a connection with the lover of Motorcycles, look up Fabric Junction. He does take orders and will be  happy to send out fabrics.
Getting the idea. Any fabric referring to motorcycles are here. Great fun chatting with Chris, and trying to control Ralph as he kept holding up another piece of fabric with suggestions on how I could make him a quilt..
How are these for panels? Glad we found this store and the surprises in this home. He also has lots of unrelated to motorcycle fabric also. All the important ones. I have to add, no we do not have a motorcycle. Nor do I want to ride one.. This would have to be in another life time.

We had been seeing trains that could easily be two miles long chugging along with piles of coal cars full to almost overflowing.  We were wondering where all the coal was coming from. Between Gillette and Sturgis we saw huge Coal pits, and the mystery was over.

Spearfish is another town we did not have time to explore and is just on the border coming to Sturgis.
We passed small towns with two story homes. You know that the snow can be  high when the stairs lead to the second story instead of to the front porch.  Houses dotted the rolling green hills.
