Princetonton Ill. Quilter's Garden -( July 31)

The Street that Quilters Garden is on could be a Hallmark street.  With flowers and tall  buildings from the 1800's. Beth, one of the owners explained that this building used to be an old hotel, and has had many changes the following years. Very tall ceilings, make it perfect to hang big quilts. Now, they have retreats on the second floor and that works out beautifully. Beth is one of the many quilt store owners that we learned also have farms with their families.  Ralph and I had lots of questions about the crops they grow, and the seasons, but back to her lovely quilt store. Whoops, before I leave the Farming part. We found out that they grow Corn for seed, some we have met grow  sweet corn for us to munch, also  for chips and cereal. Lots of uses for corn.  Check out a label sometime in the grocery.

Lovely little corner of the store. And there are more surprises, in an adjacent store.

Inside access to next door, Beth has a dress and accessories store. Now this is a first. Loved how these scarves hang on the rack.

As  you can see Beth is busy at work, and with the high ceilings, quilts can be double hung. Sorry to have missed her partner. Ladies were also giggling in the class room in the back.. But I did not hear the joke.
This store has been the cover of Quilt Sampler. Many of the stores we have visited have been in Quilt Sampler, but only a few have been on the cover.
Big pots on the street are loaded with flowers, forgot to ask who plants these.. Our area is too dry for flowers but it makes for a lovely spring feeling in the downtown.

Colorful Leaves..  I want to plant some in our garden, but sadly we live in an area that is too hot and not enough shade.

This panel said what the area is all about, charm.
Downtown Princeton, Ill.  But they get snow... looks beautiful in the summer.
