Romertopf Clay Pot, perfect for Chicken dinner

Found this clay pot at a garage sale and kept in the cupboard. Totally forgot about it. Amazing what turns up when you are "downsizing". Hooked on Costco Chickens and never had a need. But then Costco is 45 miles away. And one day just had to try this out. Looked up recipes on the net, of course. Followed directions and yummy easy dinner! And so easy! A few carrots, potatoes, 6 lb.chicken whole, spices etc. soak the clay pot and put in a cold oven.  Lots of directions on the net. Yes, will be keeping that clay pot while downsizing and probably after also. Fed us for days, sandwiches, gifts to the cats, lunches, chicken pot pie etc.. Chicken is so versatile.

No mess, no fuss. Hubby saw a recipe in the local newspaper for Swordfish Dish. I had never cooked swordfish and he usually does not suggest a dinner. So easy, he just eats what I put down for dinner.

Surprise food. But this time I thought if he wanted to try something new, I am game to try it.
So off to the store and found swordfish,  and easy to cook. I think that the name of the dish was Sicilian Swordfish with pasta. And had some veggie Pasta in the pantry.
I know the bread is bigger than the fish, but what Italian male does not want bread to wipe up the sauce.   The sauce, is Canned Diced tomatoes, minced garlic, black pitted olives, raisins( not for us)
Dried Oregano, black pepper, and olive oil,.. Cook the sauce ingredients together,  Cook pasta, put together with other well heated sauce ingredients . Fry the swordfish in olive oil as directed until opaque.  I am sure those directions are on the net. Sauce was easy and with the veggie looking pasta, looked so pretty. With stormy cold, rainy weather, this hit the spot.
Stay Warm and Dry.
